The last day of February, its legendary raid day! According to the online Pokémon group of nelson, they were planning to do a walk through lakeside park to get the 8 raids there. When you see a name online, its almost impossible to put a face, person, human being with it, well this day was when I met the most unique group of people that shared the hobby of playing Pokémon go.

As we were approaching where we said we’d meet, we saw a group that was noticeably “the gamers”, portable chargers the size of a car batteries, special outfits with touchscreen gloves, hats with heaters in them to stay warm, they knew what they were doing.

We greeted each other with our in-game names and we started. Now let me explain to you what a raid is, raids are held in gyms, and these gyms are scattered throughout the cities of the world, ( I bet there are some around you). These gyms are online, and you can’t see them without a phone, however if you play enough, you will, everyday, Pokémon get placed in these gyms and challenge the public to defeat them, on legendary raid day, its all legendaries, and that’s what we went for, almost the entire day!
